Birth Photography is Beautiful

A fellow birth photographer was communicating with a national magazine in her country.  They arranged for an interview with the family.  They sorted out a pile of images.  And then the magazine asked for an image of Mom glowing and smiling holding her baby after birth.  

The photographer didn't have that image.  The magazine dropped the story because they wanted a particular mood for the story.

Yes.  This just happened.

What a disservice to the reality of birth.  The rawness, the truth, the elegance, the intensity, the calm rest phase...what a disservice to women.
