Ottawa Newborn Photographer | A Morning at Home
I've had the pleasure of photographing this family a few times - most recently their son's birth. Today, I picked up some coffee and headed to their home for a morning newborn session. We chatted downstairs, took a few photos in the kitchen while the older children got used to my presence before heading upstairs to capture some family pictures.
This session was a blend of silly fun, Lego creations, a tour by the girls of the upstairs play-room, some snuggles in the kitchen with the new little guy, some dancing by the sink, at one point Dad was buried under his daughters, some cuddles on the bed and the whole thing wrapped up with a rousing dance party and some singing.
Mom and I talked about how fleeting these early days are and how wonderful it would be to just freeze time so we could savour things like newborn hair, that new baby smell, those cute little grunts and jerky movements a little bit longer. And yes of course, we reminded ourselves that living in the moment is important and that there's always so much to enjoy as our babies grow up and change and as we get to know their little personalities. With that though - it reminds me why capturing fresh newborn images is such a gift. I hope this family will treasure their images for years to come and look back over them and tell this special guy all the stories of his early days at home.
